Littlestone Warren offers a shorter but no less challenging game. Offering both Pay & Play & membership opportunities, it is a popular destination for golfers of all abilities. Extended from its original 9 hole layout in 1993 to a full 18 holes, it is a naturally rugged link which is attached to the Championship Course.

Set on the edge of the famous Romney Marsh, this stretch of coastline enjoys a unique micro-climate which makes it one of the driest spots in Britain. The resulting terrain offers hard and fast fairways that are beautifully defined from natural dunes, thick rough and classic links bunkers. Sweet, accurate ball striking and a clever game plan are pre-requisites to a good score.

Maintained to the highest possible standards all year round, Littlestone Warren boasts superb practice and teaching facilities that include a driving range as well as two short game practice areas.

Cooden Beach Golf Club
  • Distance: ~35 minutes

  • Type: Coastal links/parkland mix

  • Why play it: Scenic seaside layout with views over the English Channel.

  • Visitors: Welcome every day with advance booking.

  • Green fee: roughly £37–£46 for 18 holes.

  • Why play:

While the course measures a good 6,531 yards at its furthest, it offers a more sedate 6,182 yards from the yellow tee boxes, with five par three holes and a matching five par fives. It provides an easy walk round with the gentle undulations and springy turf making play enjoyable for all ages. Natural drainage is provided by internal and external dykes that border many of the holes but these also act as a magnet to the errant shot that flirts with the changing coastal breezes which remain the true hazard. It is their unpredictability that makes it a different course every time it is played.

The course has dykes, ponds and strategically placed bunkers to catch a wayward shot. Nine holes exceed 400 yards and present a different challenge from which ever tee you chose to play from. Above all else the golf courses main defence is the wind which can switch with the tide. Being relatively flat the course is easy walking although the climb up the 9th hole takes you to the highest point of the course where you can take in the stunning views of the sea and the surrounding countryside.
