Transportation

Buses

There are buses to all the local villages, beaches and major towns. An up to date bus timetable can be found here . Stagecoach also have an app so you can check bus times when you are out and about. There is a bus service to Camber Sands, Rye Harbour and Winchelsea as well as further afield to Hastings. To reach Camber Sands by bus, take the 711 bus from Rye, or routes 100, 101, 102, or 103 from Rye Station.

Trains

Trains run every hour from Rye towards Ashford or Hastings, Eastbourne (and onto Brighton). At Ashford you can pick up the high speed service to London St Pancras. Southeastern trains website has all the information on tickets and timetables. The best way to view schedules and to book tickets is however via the Trainline app on your cell phone

You can catch the Eurostar Train but it no longer stops in Ashford but it might start stopping again in 2026. If it doesnt stop in Ashford, you must catch the train at St Pancras in London. Total journey time Rye - Paris is about 4 hours. You can alternatively catch ferries from multiple local ports such as Dover and Folkstone. Across the channel takes about 90 minutes but then you'll have to catch trains onwards.

There is a taxi rank outside Rye station. However, it is often necessary to pre-book. UBER is available in Rye as is Lyft, Didi, and Ola
